The Black is an almost pure Indica 90/10 hybrid strain, which can boast a unique appearance and beneficial effects. Moreover, this kush took one of the places among the top 10 strains of 2008 by the High Times. This cannabis received the name because of its leaves that tend to become dark purple or sometimes even completely black. It’s hard to state something exact regarding Black strain’s origins, but it’s possible to tell that it has been in Vancouver Island and California since the late 1980s. Though the lineage is also unknown, people claim BC Bud Depot to be the original breeders of this strain.

This kush should be an over the counter medical drug. I mean it! it treats pain unlike any painkiller available. great part is there are no major side effects.

All About Black Strain

It contains an average level of THC that ranges between 15-17% and a negligible CBD amount of about 0,66-1,3%. Even if it’s not very potent, the consumer should be mindful of the dosage because overconsumption may induce some unpleasant effects. Like all decent Indicas, the best time to enjoy Black weed strain is during the nighttime.

The Black Strain’s Flavor Profile

This weed’s flavors show a noticeable chemical presence with notes of pine, tea, and violet. Also, some consumers state that the taste is reminiscent of grapes. It contains the following terpenes:

  • Phellandrene
  • Pulegone
  • Carene

Reported Effects

After the consumption, the high won’t take long to come, providing a relaxing body high that quickly soothes various pains. Simultaneously, a cerebral influence lifts the mood and throws one to a state of serenity without any aches or unpleasant thoughts. Then, it all ends with a feeling of drowsiness, which departs the person asleep soon enough.

Fortunately, if Black is consumed in proper amounts, the side effects are pretty mild. They are:

  • Cottonmouth
  • Hunger
  • Paranoia (in case of overconsumption)

Common Usage

According to users, Black has noticeable pain-relieving properties, and it can also help deal with insomnia. Of course, with its relaxing Indica genetics, it may become a reasonable option for alleviating stress.

Growing Info

Black strain seeds are available for purchase on the Internet. It can be grown wherever the grower wishes, without any differences in height, which ranges between 30-60 inches. If growing indoors, it can produce up to 300 gr/m2, and if outdoors, it’s approximately 400 gr/plant. The flowering cycle takes about 50-59 days, and the best time to harvest is after 63 days. On the other hand, the best time for outdoor harvest is in mid-October. To achieve its unique color, it requires growing in hydroponics or outdoors.

Cant imagine a better strain for body numbing effects. It is moderate so you do not feel lole you are going to die right there and then. That is my personal view, the potency rate is just right not too much and not too little. I wish they all came like this.

Strain details

Black Strain Cannabinoids

THC Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is a major cannabis chemical compound. It is a psychoactive element that stimulates dopamine release and induces euphoria or happiness. THC-rich strains may be helpful with such conditions as lack of appetite, chronic pains , etc. It is considered to be the primary active marijuana component. 15.5 - 17.5%
CBD Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a major compound in cannabis, which is non-psychoactive. It is also proved to counteract the side effects of the second major component THC. CBD is widely used for medicinal purposes in rubs, oils and so on. It is helpful in muscle pain cases, may treat arthritis and migraines. Even Greeks used it against pain, while Queen Victoria applied it to get rid of menstrual cramps. 0.66 - 1.3%
CBC Cannabichromene, or CBC, is a minor cannabinoid, meaning that its quantity in cannabis is quite little. Though it has the same origin as CBD and THC, it is different in functions. Without any psychoactive effects, it is an efficient cannabis compound in combating acne and depression. CBC produces analgesic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. 0.42 - 1.44%
CBG Cannabigerol, or CBG, is one of the minor cannabis compounds in adult plants. On the other hand, young ones contain a lot of this antibacterial and anti-inflammatory component. During the growth, CBG is converted into different cannabinoids, mostly THC and CBD. The compound itself increases appetite and decreases eye pressure. 0.36 - 2.33%
CBN Cannabinol, or CBN, is a trace element in cannabis that is considered to be mildly psychoactive. It appears from oxidation THC, exposed to light and heat. CBN is mostly contained in old cannabis and in traditional hashish. It is effective against insomnia, bacterial infections and appetite loss. 0.57 - 0.15%
THCV Tetrahydrocannabivarin, or THC-V, is a compound contained in cannabis in trace amounts. Even though it is close to THC molecularly, it is different in effects. This compound may be psychoactive only in large amounts. THC-V reduces blood sugar, controls appetite, stimulates bone growth, etc. African Sativa strains are the richest in THC-V. 0.33 - 1.07%

Black Terpene Profile

Carene Carene (also known as Delta-3 carene) is a terpene found in rosemary, lemons, pines, and cedars, offering citrusy and cypress aroma. Studies on mice showed that carene provides anti-inflammatory effects, as well as promotes bone health and chronic pain relief. 0.27%
Pinene Pinene is one of the most widespread terpenes in nature, found in pine trees, basil, nutmeg, parsley, and rosemary. Cannabis containing terpene (alpha-pinene or α-pinene) boasts a strong pine scent. Pinene is responsible for anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, and anti-anxiety effects. 0.12%
Humulene Humulene (also known as α-humulene) is one of the major terpenes found in cannabis, contributing to woody, earthy, spicy, herbaceous, and, mainly, floral aromas of cannabis. Used in modern medicine, humulene offers anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and appetite suppressant effects, which have been well-researched by pharmaceutical companies. 0.12%
Pulegone Pulegone is a less-common terpene found in peppermint and catnip, for example, with a sweet and minty aroma. In small amounts, pulegone could be found in some cannabis strains. It is reported to offer anxiety-relieving effects, increased cognitive performance, and sedative properties. Could remove dizziness. 0.12%
Phellandrene Phellandrene (also known as alpha- and beta-phellandrene) is one of the rare terpenes found in cannabis with antihyperalgesic and antidepressive properties. Phellandrene contributes to a minty, woody, and mildly citrus aroma in cannabis. Previously confused with limonene and pinene, phellandrene was eventually distinguished as a separate terpene common for eucalyptus. Also, it could be found in mint, dill, black pepper, cinnamon, parsley, pine, and lavender. 0.38%
Total terpenes content 1.01%
