The Cherry Garcia strain is a 50/50 hybrid available on dispensaries’ shelves with a THC content of 17-21% and only trace amounts of CBD (0.63-0.9%). On the contrary, cannabinoids detected in the plant are numerous:

  • CBC 0.34-0.7%
  • CBG 0.18-1.14%
  • CBN 0.05-0.24%
  • THCV 0.27-1.09%

Cherry Garcia is bred by different companies, so its genetic lineage and aroma profile can vary. Marijuana with this potency level is not considered strong, but its flavor can be unexpected and acrid for newbies.

Smell, Taste, and Terpenes

Unlike its name, the weed doesn’t provide an explosion of cherry sweetness. Its dried flowers combine pine and skunk aromas since the plant contains plenty of eucalyptol. When burnt, the nugs produce a thick smoke described by smokers as pungent (as affected by linalool) with sweet hints (as typical for myrcene). This cocktail of terpenes can be savory for unprepared weedheads. The strain is not suitable for discreet smoking and should be enjoyed outside the house.

Cherry Garcia Strain Effects

The Cherry Garcia weed strain begins with a high that uplifts your mood and relaxes your body. People feel happy and worry-free. Some stoners report that their functionality is preserved despite waves of euphoria, though the weed is more calming than energizing.

This kush is usually smoked to manage symptoms of:

  • Headache
  • Chronic pain
  • Insomnia
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Depression

Pangs of hunger soon follow the heady state. Since Cherry Garcia increases appetite, it can be used by medical cannabis consumers with nausea or suppressed appetite.

As the hybrid acts mainly in the head, too much of it may agitate side effects such as:

  • Heightened sensory perception
  • Drowsiness
  • Hunger

Info for Gardeners

The Cherry Garcia strain is not available for sale online as seeds. In addition, it requires a certain experience level to get the best possible results, so beginning growers are not recommended to cultivate this phenotype. It is a late bloomer and takes 51-61 days to flower and 66 days to harvest. The anticipated crops are 1-2 ounces of dried flowers per 1 ft2 planted range if bred indoors and 15-20 ounces per plant as an outdoor yield. Cultivation in a greenhouse is preferable and results in plants that are 60’’-80’’ high. Outside, the bushes are more than 90’’ in stature.

The strain develops long buds colored like olives and shaped like spades. They are dotted with thin orange hairs and have lots of trichomes.

Cherry Garcia Strain Cannabinoids

THC Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is a major cannabis chemical compound. It is a psychoactive element that stimulates dopamine release and induces euphoria or happiness. THC-rich strains may be helpful with such conditions as lack of appetite, chronic pains , etc. It is considered to be the primary active marijuana component. 17 - 21%
CBD Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a major compound in cannabis, which is non-psychoactive. It is also proved to counteract the side effects of the second major component THC. CBD is widely used for medicinal purposes in rubs, oils and so on. It is helpful in muscle pain cases, may treat arthritis and migraines. Even Greeks used it against pain, while Queen Victoria applied it to get rid of menstrual cramps. 0.63 - 0.9%
CBC Cannabichromene, or CBC, is a minor cannabinoid, meaning that its quantity in cannabis is quite little. Though it has the same origin as CBD and THC, it is different in functions. Without any psychoactive effects, it is an efficient cannabis compound in combating acne and depression. CBC produces analgesic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. 0.34 - 0.7%
CBG Cannabigerol, or CBG, is one of the minor cannabis compounds in adult plants. On the other hand, young ones contain a lot of this antibacterial and anti-inflammatory component. During the growth, CBG is converted into different cannabinoids, mostly THC and CBD. The compound itself increases appetite and decreases eye pressure. 0.18 - 1.14%
CBN Cannabinol, or CBN, is a trace element in cannabis that is considered to be mildly psychoactive. It appears from oxidation THC, exposed to light and heat. CBN is mostly contained in old cannabis and in traditional hashish. It is effective against insomnia, bacterial infections and appetite loss. 0.05 - 0.24%
THCV Tetrahydrocannabivarin, or THC-V, is a compound contained in cannabis in trace amounts. Even though it is close to THC molecularly, it is different in effects. This compound may be psychoactive only in large amounts. THC-V reduces blood sugar, controls appetite, stimulates bone growth, etc. African Sativa strains are the richest in THC-V. 0.27 - 1.09%

Cherry Garcia Terpene Profile

Myrcene Myrcene (also known as β-myrcene) is one of the most common terpenes found in cannabis, representing more than 20% of the modern marijuana terpene profile. Myrcene has a distinct earthy, musky flavor, resembling cloves. It is responsible for calming and soothing effects of weed. Myrcene is also found in hops, thyme, mango, lemongrass, guava melon. 0.22%
Humulene Humulene (also known as α-humulene) is one of the major terpenes found in cannabis, contributing to woody, earthy, spicy, herbaceous, and, mainly, floral aromas of cannabis. Used in modern medicine, humulene offers anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and appetite suppressant effects, which have been well-researched by pharmaceutical companies. 0.16%
Linalool Linalool (also known as beta linalool, linalyl alcohol, linaloyl oxide, and p-linalool) is one of the rarest terpenes found in cannabis, mostly in small quantities. Linalool is known for its spicy and lavender aroma, bringing relaxation and calming effects. It is also said to provide anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties that can be useful for athletes. 0.27%
Eucalyptol Eucalyptol (also known as cineole) is usually found in eucalyptus, mint, sage, and tea tree oil. Distinguished for its cooling properties, eucalyptol constitutes only up 0.6% of a total terpene profile of a strain. This terpene exhibits potent antibacterial effects and can also be used to treat patients with Alzheimer's disease and asthma. 0.27%
Caryophyllene Caryophyllene (also known as beta or b caryophyllene) is a terpene found in many herbs and spices, such as black pepper, basil, rosemary, and oregano. Cannabis high in caryophyllene delivers a strong spicy, peppery aroma, resembling cinnamon and cloves. Caryophyllene offers potent anti-inflammatory and sedative effects. 0.08%
Total terpenes content 1.00%

I thought of buying this for migraine after taking reviews into consideration. But this one made me so drowsy in a very weird way. I felt heart beat slower and I almost panicked that I would die. You have no idea how traumatising that is.

Has a nice mellow long-lasting head that is high but not super strong. It has a diesel strain-type aroma. It provided a slight creativity boost. No real drowsiness as I find it difficult to sleep on this strain. It is a good daytime active flower for people with anxiety and concentration problems. I give it a 7 out of 10 For high. 9 out of 10 for focus. 9 out of 10 for pain relief.

This gives you a nice high but it tastes absolutely horrible. This tasted almost like I smoked a cigarette. It burns very quickly. In my opinion the taste is not worth the high.
