Created by Seed Junky Genetics as a combination of Gelato 33 and Wedding Cake, the Ice Cream Cake strain is one of the most popular. It is an indica-dominant marijuana strain with good sedating and calming effects. This weed is not suitable for beginner tokers as it has a high THC content of 22-25%. The CBD content can go as high as 1.3% as well. Other important cannabinoids worth mentioning are CBC and CBG, each of which is up to 0.6%.

Ice Cream Cake (also sometimes called ICC) has a sweet, nutty hint that is like its parent strains. The major dominant terpene Limonene gives it a lemony taste as well. It has very calming effects, which makes it more suitable to be consumed on slower days or for nighttime use when you want to get relaxed.

Ice Cream Cake Strain Cannabinoids

THC Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is a major cannabis chemical compound. It is a psychoactive element that stimulates dopamine release and induces euphoria or happiness. THC-rich strains may be helpful with such conditions as lack of appetite, chronic pains , etc. It is considered to be the primary active marijuana component. 20.78 - 23.02%
CBD Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a major compound in cannabis, which is non-psychoactive. It is also proved to counteract the side effects of the second major component THC. CBD is widely used for medicinal purposes in rubs, oils and so on. It is helpful in muscle pain cases, may treat arthritis and migraines. Even Greeks used it against pain, while Queen Victoria applied it to get rid of menstrual cramps. 0.26 - 1.34%
CBC Cannabichromene, or CBC, is a minor cannabinoid, meaning that its quantity in cannabis is quite little. Though it has the same origin as CBD and THC, it is different in functions. Without any psychoactive effects, it is an efficient cannabis compound in combating acne and depression. CBC produces analgesic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. 0.26 - 0.58%
CBG Cannabigerol, or CBG, is one of the minor cannabis compounds in adult plants. On the other hand, young ones contain a lot of this antibacterial and anti-inflammatory component. During the growth, CBG is converted into different cannabinoids, mostly THC and CBD. The compound itself increases appetite and decreases eye pressure. 0.23 - 0.54%
CBN Cannabinol, or CBN, is a trace element in cannabis that is considered to be mildly psychoactive. It appears from oxidation THC, exposed to light and heat. CBN is mostly contained in old cannabis and in traditional hashish. It is effective against insomnia, bacterial infections and appetite loss. 0.3 - 0.24%
THCV Tetrahydrocannabivarin, or THC-V, is a compound contained in cannabis in trace amounts. Even though it is close to THC molecularly, it is different in effects. This compound may be psychoactive only in large amounts. THC-V reduces blood sugar, controls appetite, stimulates bone growth, etc. African Sativa strains are the richest in THC-V. 0.25 - 1.08%

Expect full body relaxation that pairs off beautifully with a body buzz. I don't know what's responsible for the smooth high Ice Cream Cake gave me. Each moment was better than the previous. I didn't sleep but I was so chilled. You couldn't get a quarrell out of me even if you tried.

Nope, ICC is not for me. Just tried it for the first time and I do not like it all. Of course, you get high off it but the effect doesn’t last. I try to kill my anxiety with it and a few minutes later it was back with a bang. So disappointed

You got to try this stuff! It’s amazing. I like it better in the evenings when I’m all beat and exhausted. It has just the right amount of THC for the high effect. No better way to end your evening than this.

A couple of one hitters of this and it’s one of the nicest head and body high combinations I have had in a long time. Very euphoric, very tingly and smiley. The buds are a dark green with dark purple and full of trichomes. The smoothness of this smoke is something else. You feel nothing on the inhale or exhale which makes for a really pleasant experience. Pain seems to be melted away with the Ice Cream Cake strain. Very gassy smell mixed with earthy, nutty, and milky hints. Overall I am impressed. Smell - 8/10 Looks 9/10 Effects 9.5/10 Smoke 10/10 Total 9/10

I just started smoking at the age of 50 and I'm 52 all because of fibromyalgia, psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis and a blood disorder that I was born with. I used to be on so many opiates that I fell into a coma. I did a lot of research on medical marijuana and then I started doing c b d because I was in the pain clinic. Then one day one of my sons was sitting on the porch with me and he was smoking the real weed and I was smoking CBD cigarettes. He said mom hit this, and I did. I got up and I started walking I let go of my cane and from that day I started smoking marijuana. I went to the doctor and told them that I did not want any more steroids in my back neither did I want their opiates anymore. Started doing yoga eating right and smoking different strands of marijuana for my pain in my body and now I walk 3 miles a day I Do by yoga and I am a pescatarian. This particular marijuana is my favorite of all of them I give it a five-star.

Ct med marijuana laws dictate that strains be “renamed so as not to appeal to minors”. As a result, I grabbed 1/2 of ICC when I was shooting for sunset sherbet. Glad I did! I love all things Cookie, and this strain doesn’t disappoint! For my hard head, this is an excellent anytime strain, including wake and bake. 4 hits then 2 every couple of hours-I’m good to go.

Age - 66yrs old, have been smoking pot for 50+ years. Took about 3 hits from a pipe and had a groovy head high within 5-10 minutes afterwards. Maybe a tad dizzy, when standing I had no stagger but maybe a little swagger. Kicked back in my recliner watching the flatscreen feeling very relaxed now after about 30-45 mins. Would buy it again because this stuff is swell!

Soon as I started smoking Ice Cream Cake, I noticed a drastic reduction in my appetite, resulting in significant weight loss, which is welcome since I have struggled with weight my entire life. Fortunately, its other effects of a full body relaxing high and significant pain reduction make this strain almost the ideal one for me.

I just started smoking again after 12 years and holy moly has weed changed! Last time I smoked, you just got whatever was available on the street. Anyway, after smoking some really low percentage indica (11%) for about a week, I decided to try to the Ice cream cake strain and it does not disappoint! I kept hitting the pipe because I didn't feel anything straight away, but once it caught up, it was a really nice, smooth, relaxing high. I have incredible anxiety issues, and if I can smoke weed without getting anxious, I know it's a good one for me. This is like taking a Xanax but then also getting a nice head high (if you smoke enough of it). Someone said this isn't a good strain for beginners (or in my case, someone who hasn't smoked in over a decade), but I would say this is great for beginners... especially those who are scared to try weed for fear of becoming anxious. As a side note, I feel I can better concentrate on music, movies, and people on this strain.

FAQ

Seed Junky Genetics bred the strain by crossing Wedding Cake with Gelato #33. The cross resulted in a pretty potent indica-dominant hybrid well known for its sedative effects.
As the name suggests, Ice Cream Cake comes with dessert-like aromas described by smokers as sweet, butter, and creamy vanilla with slight pungent hints. The strain is widely used in the production of cannabis-infused edibles. Dominant terpenes that bring these smells to the table are limonene and valencene. The peppery flavor is also detectable on the exhale.
Ice Cream Cake is easy to cultivate. Its flowering stage is short (just 53-63 days), and the plants don’t reach enormous heights (only 30’’-60’’). Even gardeners new to the world of growing weed will be rewarded with generous yields.
