The Mandarin Sunset strain has mostly Indica genetics and features Herijuana as one of its parent strains. Its THC content is measured at between 19.75% and 21.75%. The list of cannabinoids that are lab-tested in the plant is indicated below:

  • CBD 0.56-0.89%
  • CBC 0.26-0.84%
  • CBG 0.1-1.18%
  • CBN 0.21-0.32%
  • THCV 0.32-1.03%

This particular weed packs a pretty high THC concentration and is recommended for smoking by experienced stoners. The strain is wonderful in terms of aromas and effects and has been chosen to spawn a new line of cannabis hybrid cultivars under the name of “Mandarine.” Most of them are associated with spicy and sweet flavors.

Fragrances and Flavors

Mandarin Sunset carries a combo of aromas; however, the prevalent scent is citrus with peppery notes. The sabinene terpene is responsible for this odor. Users report skunk notes as the bottom layer of aromas due to ocimene, with sweet undertones due to myrcene.

Mandarin Sunset Strain Effects

The onset of action caused by the Mandarin Sunset weed strain may seem light to some consumers. Hooked on this effect, people can consume too much of it. The high starts slowly, but it is long-lasting and can make users relaxed for hours. Feeling unfocused and happy, smokers find their pains and aches vanish. Specific improvements are reported in the digestion system since the cultivar increases appetite. Patients diagnosed with inflammation and muscle spasms may also feel relief after smoking.

This marijuana affects everyone differently and may cause negative reactions in some individuals:

  • Dry eyes
  • Drowsiness
  • Fatigue

If you overdose, nothing will keep you from slipping into couch-lock. It may help people who try to combat insomnia but can be surprising for those unprepared for the severe Indica zone they enter.

Info for Growers

Experienced gardeners love to grow the Mandarin Sunset strain, while this process can be complicated for novice growers. One of the reasons is its high stature. The plants tend to grow tall and can amount to 60’’-80’’ for indoor conditions and more than 90’’ in outdoor settings. Typically, the blooming phase lasts 53-66 days. From seed to harvest, the flowers are ready for chopping in 72 days. The strain yields 1-2 oz./ft2 indoors and 15-20 oz./plant outdoors. The bushes are characterized by green and purple leaves, reddish hairs on the buds, and beautiful flowers with a rich color palette akin to the sunset it was named for. You can find the seeds in online stores.

Mandarin Sunset Strain Cannabinoids

THC Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is a major cannabis chemical compound. It is a psychoactive element that stimulates dopamine release and induces euphoria or happiness. THC-rich strains may be helpful with such conditions as lack of appetite, chronic pains , etc. It is considered to be the primary active marijuana component. 19.75 - 21.75%
CBD Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a major compound in cannabis, which is non-psychoactive. It is also proved to counteract the side effects of the second major component THC. CBD is widely used for medicinal purposes in rubs, oils and so on. It is helpful in muscle pain cases, may treat arthritis and migraines. Even Greeks used it against pain, while Queen Victoria applied it to get rid of menstrual cramps. 0.56 - 0.89%
CBC Cannabichromene, or CBC, is a minor cannabinoid, meaning that its quantity in cannabis is quite little. Though it has the same origin as CBD and THC, it is different in functions. Without any psychoactive effects, it is an efficient cannabis compound in combating acne and depression. CBC produces analgesic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. 0.26 - 0.84%
CBG Cannabigerol, or CBG, is one of the minor cannabis compounds in adult plants. On the other hand, young ones contain a lot of this antibacterial and anti-inflammatory component. During the growth, CBG is converted into different cannabinoids, mostly THC and CBD. The compound itself increases appetite and decreases eye pressure. 0.1 - 1.18%
CBN Cannabinol, or CBN, is a trace element in cannabis that is considered to be mildly psychoactive. It appears from oxidation THC, exposed to light and heat. CBN is mostly contained in old cannabis and in traditional hashish. It is effective against insomnia, bacterial infections and appetite loss. 0.21 - 0.32%
THCV Tetrahydrocannabivarin, or THC-V, is a compound contained in cannabis in trace amounts. Even though it is close to THC molecularly, it is different in effects. This compound may be psychoactive only in large amounts. THC-V reduces blood sugar, controls appetite, stimulates bone growth, etc. African Sativa strains are the richest in THC-V. 0.32 - 1.03%

The market is flooded with citrusy weed so I thought this is just another one lemony, spicy kind . Luckily I was intrigued enough to try it. The best way I could describe it is charming and mystical. Also, I can understand why people praise the buzz. I enjoyed every session and hope to have more in the future.

If I have to recommend one strain, suitable for mornings, afternoons, or evenings. Potent, but not too strong. With both energizing and calming effect. Good for your body and mind, a long-lasting quick hitter with great aroma and taste… then I would most certainly recommend Mandarin Sunset. You’re welcome!

Indeed… the growers outdid themselves with this one! This strain is very close to perfection. Everything about it is so profound and elegant. I like to roll the joint, pour some wine and relax with happy thoughts. Always a very positive effect and slow calm down.

Checked the THC on wikileaf… THC 23% and its perfect concentration for me. But in this review THC is 14 - 16%, why could there be such a difference?
