Sunset Sherbet is an Indica-dominant strain. It originates from the legendary Pink Panties and Girl Scout Cookies strains. Featuring THC content of between 16% and 20% this can be quite a potent weed with many psychedelic effects. Its CBD content in it is typically measured below 1%.

Sherbert strain is typical for the Bay Area, California, partly because the mastermind behind it (some called him Mr. Sherbinsky, while other sources state the grower as unknown), was from there, and because of the amount of it sold within the area. This weed strain has a strong GSC core combined with Pink Panties’ energy-giving abilities, which is another point why people love it. Having been already for more than 10 years on the market, it still remains one of the favorites for those who like the tasty kind of high. If you want to try to grow it, you can find Sunset Sherbet Seeds Feminized on our website.

Sherbet listed as one of the most popular strains of 2020 by Alex Pasternack, EVP of Binske. Read more about Binske in Grower Stories #4

Sunset Sherbet Strain Effects

Although every given breed will have slightly different effects on any given person due to many factors (mental state, physical build, perception type, quantity & quality of the weed smoked, etc), it has many similarities in terms of the general feeling that most people will encounter after using this cannabis strain. These are the most commonly reported feelings from the users:

Negative effects:

  • Dry mouth & eyes
  • Anxiety
  • Slower body coordination & dizziness
  • Paranoid

Medical Applications

While the recreational usage of any cannabis strain is pretty straightforward (to create and experience the good, happy, serene state of mind), the medical purposes for every breed are different, depending on what’s being treated and the amount of CBD/THC that the particular plant has. Based on the chemical structure, Sunset Sherbet strain plant is used to treat the following conditions:

  • Depression
  • Stress
  • Pain
  • Anxiety
  • Sleep deprivation
  • Eating disorders
  • ADHD

Flavors and Fragrances

Having an OG Kush as one of your ancestors, you’ll definitely have to inherit the hashish odor, typical for the cannabinoid plants. A crossbred with CSG, it gets mixed with a fruity freshness that includes fresh orange and sweet orange as a dominant note, and strong gourmand candy and sherbet notes.

In terms of taste, there is nothing like the feeling of a tasty joint that doesn’t leave the terrible dry-red-wine like aftertaste and smells like citrusy cotton candy. That’s pretty much what you’ll get with a sunset sherbet hybrid. Be careful though, Sunset Sherbet strain is so strong you might cough for a minute if you haven’t tried anything like this before. The optimal solution here is to smell the plant itself for a while, then make a joint/bong, lighten it and inhale in small doses.

Fans of Sunset Sherbert weed also recommend paying attention to the Apple Fritters strain, although it has a higher THC level, they say these two strains have something in common in effects and aftertaste.

Growing Information

Climate

Sherbet strain loves shaded, warm and humid Mediterranean climate and the most perfect place you can grow it in the States is Central California. It doesn’t mean it only can grow outside – under proper artificial conditions, you’ll have the plant fully grown indoors. A greenhouse with a temperature between 70-85 degrees Fahrenheit is considered a perfect for Sherbert OG strain.

Sunset Sherbet Grow

To maximize the yield and help preserve the qualities of the plant, one should expose the plant to cold night temperatures for a few days before cropping. Also, it’s paramount to trim the big leaves regularly. Within 8-9 weeks after planting it, you should expect its blooming in the tasty flowers. Don’t let the Sunset Sherbet strain flowering time get past its maximum deadline as it will lose its aroma qualities.

Soil

Because Sunset Sherbert strain plant loves a warm and humid climate, the soil it grows in should be well-balanced to keep enough water and won’t become asphalt-like when it’s hot. There is no way that there is a shortage of water, as the lack of shadow. Some farmers decide to mineralize the soil but we would encourage you to refrain from it as it will change the smell and the taste, to say nothing of the chemical ingredients.

Sunset Sherbet Strain Cannabinoids

THC Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is a major cannabis chemical compound. It is a psychoactive element that stimulates dopamine release and induces euphoria or happiness. THC-rich strains may be helpful with such conditions as lack of appetite, chronic pains , etc. It is considered to be the primary active marijuana component. 17 - 20%
CBD Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a major compound in cannabis, which is non-psychoactive. It is also proved to counteract the side effects of the second major component THC. CBD is widely used for medicinal purposes in rubs, oils and so on. It is helpful in muscle pain cases, may treat arthritis and migraines. Even Greeks used it against pain, while Queen Victoria applied it to get rid of menstrual cramps. 0.48 - 0.79%
CBC Cannabichromene, or CBC, is a minor cannabinoid, meaning that its quantity in cannabis is quite little. Though it has the same origin as CBD and THC, it is different in functions. Without any psychoactive effects, it is an efficient cannabis compound in combating acne and depression. CBC produces analgesic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. 0.1 - 1.16%
CBG Cannabigerol, or CBG, is one of the minor cannabis compounds in adult plants. On the other hand, young ones contain a lot of this antibacterial and anti-inflammatory component. During the growth, CBG is converted into different cannabinoids, mostly THC and CBD. The compound itself increases appetite and decreases eye pressure. 0.13 - 2.32%
CBN Cannabinol, or CBN, is a trace element in cannabis that is considered to be mildly psychoactive. It appears from oxidation THC, exposed to light and heat. CBN is mostly contained in old cannabis and in traditional hashish. It is effective against insomnia, bacterial infections and appetite loss. 0.06 - 0.16%
THCV Tetrahydrocannabivarin, or THC-V, is a compound contained in cannabis in trace amounts. Even though it is close to THC molecularly, it is different in effects. This compound may be psychoactive only in large amounts. THC-V reduces blood sugar, controls appetite, stimulates bone growth, etc. African Sativa strains are the richest in THC-V. 0.36 - 1.41%

I get that Indica Babe thinks the sun rises and sets on Sunset Sherbet but i have my reservations. which are mostly because of the paranoia. I am used to chilled indicas that get me so relaxed i could meditate. this one had me turning my head every few minutes in fear of pretty much nothing.

I like how fast it is when it comes to pain. There was this long haul in the winter where i would get these random muscle pulls, i started experiimentaing with some tame herbs and soon enough stumbled upon this beauty. All i can say is that the pain is gone and I am now a believer.

There were days when this bud being an indica dominant would have been a major deal breaker but they are long gone. i have come to appreciate some fresh indica baddies and all i can say is weed is heavenly. Sunset Sherbet does not dissapoint and i can attest to that 100%. The high was nothing i can describe in words even if i tried.

Compared to other weed strains I've smoked before , this one hit different! the dizziness was real. I've never felt so paranoid until I pumped this stuff. Good thing is that I was able to complete my college assignment earlier than usual. I am not sure if I'll try this strain again.

Was having a bad day. Pitt hits me; "Y'all, why not try something different?" After a couple of joints, creativity sets in. At some point, everyone was high and we lost focus on what we were supposed to do. We ended up wasting a whole day having done nothing. Well, Idk, but it was worth it. I'll try it again.

I was with my partner at a bash the other day; Being the nervous type, he suggested we should try something to set the mood. T'was my first time puffing ganja. He rolled a blunt and we took turns to puff until the effects downed on us. At first, I was anxious but as time went on, I felt more relaxed. Anyone struggling with anxiety should try this.

FAQ

The time to harvest the strain is 72 days after germination. Adult indoor plants give 1-2 oz./ft2. Those grown in the open-air environments reward gardeners with 15-20 oz./plant.
As the name says, Sunset Sherbet offers smokers a dessert-like aroma, a mix of sweet citrus and floral notes. This strain has OG Kush as one of its ancestors, so it features an earthy odor typical for this phenotype. Some consumers may find it a downside. The taste is a little peppery and tingly on the tongue.
Smokers love indica-dominant Sunset Sherbet for its uplifting effects and cerebral euphoria. This happy strain helps people improve their mood, relieve muscle tension, and relax. In single cases, it may induce sleepiness. Still, this weed allows users to maintain a clear head and inspires creativity.
