Apex is a powerful strain created by Equilibrium Genetics via crossbreeding of several parents, with some of them tracing their origin to the Uzbekistan lineage. This is an Indica-dominant hybrid strain that includes 80% Indica and 20% Sativa genes. Its THC level amounts to 20% but can exceed this concentration, reaching 25.5%. Other cannabinoids occurring in the plant are as follows:

  • 0.32-0.69% CBC
  • 0.14-1.36% CBG
  • 0.44-0.54% THCV
  • 0.19% CBN
  • 0.05-0.48% CBD

Beginners and users with low THC tolerance should not consume this weed.

Aroma and Flavor

The Apex strain features a cocktail of delicious aromas with highly noticeable notes of pineapple and mango. These flavors come from its dominant terpenes – humulene and myrcene. The main scents have undercurrents of pine, lavender, and wood as a contribution of the geraniol terpene. These aromas are matched with the strain taste.

There are no seeds for this strain, but you can purchase seeds from the parent strain:

Typical Apex Strain Effects

Apex is super potent cannabis that offers hard-hitting effects. The high starts with tingles around the body that bring users to a relaxed state. Smoking this weed makes people focused and aroused. It can inspire chattiness and cause ravenous hunger in some smokers. This kush is best for morning usage.

The combination of mental and physical effects makes this marijuana extremely helpful for sufferers of the following medical conditions:

  • Parkinson's disease
  • Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • PMS

As any forceful cannabis type, Apex may provoke negative reactions when consumed in heavy doses or when used by inexperienced smokers. They include:

  • Concern
  • Headache
  • Dry eyes
  • Heightened sensory perception

For Growers

The Apex strain is a photoperiod plant that reaches maturity within 62-75 days of a flowering cycle and grows to about 30’’-60’’ high. It produces oversized buds that feature a minty green color. The time for harvest is 81 days after germination. Most growers consider it a low-yield plant; however, the harvest can reach 1-2 oz./ft2 and even 2-3 oz./ft2 for plants cultivated indoors and outdoors, respectively. It may not be ideal for growers who are searching for sellable crops.

Apex Strain Cannabinoids

THC Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is a major cannabis chemical compound. It is a psychoactive element that stimulates dopamine release and induces euphoria or happiness. THC-rich strains may be helpful with such conditions as lack of appetite, chronic pains , etc. It is considered to be the primary active marijuana component. 20.5 - 25.5%
CBD Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a major compound in cannabis, which is non-psychoactive. It is also proved to counteract the side effects of the second major component THC. CBD is widely used for medicinal purposes in rubs, oils and so on. It is helpful in muscle pain cases, may treat arthritis and migraines. Even Greeks used it against pain, while Queen Victoria applied it to get rid of menstrual cramps. 0.05 - 0.48%
CBC Cannabichromene, or CBC, is a minor cannabinoid, meaning that its quantity in cannabis is quite little. Though it has the same origin as CBD and THC, it is different in functions. Without any psychoactive effects, it is an efficient cannabis compound in combating acne and depression. CBC produces analgesic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. 0.32 - 0.69%
CBG Cannabigerol, or CBG, is one of the minor cannabis compounds in adult plants. On the other hand, young ones contain a lot of this antibacterial and anti-inflammatory component. During the growth, CBG is converted into different cannabinoids, mostly THC and CBD. The compound itself increases appetite and decreases eye pressure. 0.14 - 1.36%
CBN Cannabinol, or CBN, is a trace element in cannabis that is considered to be mildly psychoactive. It appears from oxidation THC, exposed to light and heat. CBN is mostly contained in old cannabis and in traditional hashish. It is effective against insomnia, bacterial infections and appetite loss. 0.3 - 0.19%
THCV Tetrahydrocannabivarin, or THC-V, is a compound contained in cannabis in trace amounts. Even though it is close to THC molecularly, it is different in effects. This compound may be psychoactive only in large amounts. THC-V reduces blood sugar, controls appetite, stimulates bone growth, etc. African Sativa strains are the richest in THC-V. 0.44 - 0.54%

Apex Terpene Profile

Myrcene Myrcene (also known as β-myrcene) is one of the most common terpenes found in cannabis, representing more than 20% of the modern marijuana terpene profile. Myrcene has a distinct earthy, musky flavor, resembling cloves. It is responsible for calming and soothing effects of weed. Myrcene is also found in hops, thyme, mango, lemongrass, guava melon. 0.47%
Geraniol Geraniol is a terpene initially contained in geraniums, as well as lemongrass, lemon peels, roses, blueberries, and carrots. The aroma is a sweet rose scent with notes of citrus. Geraniol features anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, and neuroprotectant properties. It's rumored to have side effects such as allergic contact dermatitis or sensitive skin irritation. 0.07%
Humulene Humulene (also known as α-humulene) is one of the major terpenes found in cannabis, contributing to woody, earthy, spicy, herbaceous, and, mainly, floral aromas of cannabis. Used in modern medicine, humulene offers anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and appetite suppressant effects, which have been well-researched by pharmaceutical companies. 0.47%

If I were going for what sets my soul on fire, I'd probably take strains with a higher CBD content. I am not saying Apex is not good, all I am saying is it doesn't tickle my fancy.

so imagine this, its a sunny afternoon and you are relaxing on a beach with one of these Apex joints. Even the swim afterwards would be exhilirating. What I love most about them is the high THC levels.

I read someplace that Apex has some link to the Kush strains and I see why. The moment I smoked it I could feel this overwhelming euphoria that was pretty damn good if I do say so myself.

Compared to Tropimango, I'd say this one has a lesser intriguing taste.

The thing with indica strains is that I get too drowsy after a few hits. This Apex strain was somehow different though. The high lasted for hours and afterwards I was on the pitch playing with a lot of energy.

Apex is my favorite strain! It feels like pure Indica to me. cannabis is undoubtedly a heavy-hitter, it won me over with the ability to relax both body and mind, but at the same time I didn’t lose the clarity. As a result, this high is quite gentle. After
