Incann CBD Oil Founder Sarah Paris Opens Up About the CBD Industry, Their Greatest Achievements, and Their Mission to Heal
People around the world have used cannabis as medicine for thousands of years. In the U.S., however, that CBD market is new and emerging. Part of that growth are companies like Incann, a CBD brand offering top-notch oils, tinctures, and topicals for the average consumer looking to utilize cannabis as medicine.
Tia (AskGrowers) : How did you guys start Incann?
Sarah Paris : I started Incann after my own discovery of CBD products in early 2017, a time when there were a lot fewer options on the market. CBD products helped me manage my stress and after doing a lot of research on the benefits it can potentially offer. I saw this industry in infancy, and it scratched at the entrepreneur within me. I saw a need for safe, consistent products from a brand that was trustworthy and transparent. It took about a year to research and develop, and on December 21, 2018, a day after the 2018 Farm Bill passed into law and removed hemp from the controlled substance list, Incann was launched!
Tia : Why have you decided to focus on CBD products? Why not a mix of CBD and THC?
Sarah : CBD was my introduction to cannabis. It’s a part of my life now, and I wanted to be a part of an industry that literally helps people feel better. I saw CBD as an accessible and easy entry point into the industry. Incann stands for “in cannabis”, so the future includes all cannabinoids.
Tia : What’s your personal experience in the cannabis industry?
Sarah : Interestingly enough, I’m someone that was stigmatized toward cannabis prior to discovering CBD. I'm grateful I found CBD when I did, which opened the door for me to the power of plant medicine, cannabis and its full potential.
Tia : What was the most difficult moment developing a CBD brand?
Sarah : At the moment, I would say being blocked from marketing via standard e-commerce channels available to most businesses. Having to constantly find workarounds for payment processing and traditionally streamlined systems is extremely difficult.
Tia : Tell us more about the ingredients in your drinks. What sort of metrics do you use to ensure ingredient and product quality?
Sarah : We maintain a chain of custody on all our product and product batches. From the farm to the finished product, everything is third-party tested for safety and accuracy. Our customers are confident to shop with us because we are transparent and the full results for the finished products are always available on our website.
Tia : Your website says, “In the wave of overpopulated products, gimmicks, and confusion, we stay true to the purpose of the plant and keep it as simple as possible.” What’s that simplicity in your products?
Sarah : Simplicity means keeping everything as natural as possible. The purpose of the plant is to heal people, and with that in mind, we would never dilute our products with cheap fillers, additives, or contaminated plants. In addition, many people are new to CBD and cannabis, so we keep it simple with a limited product line that is actually effective with labeling that is clear and easy to understand.
Tia : What has changed since Incann first started? What do you think is your biggest achievement as a company?
Sarah : The biggest achievement we have is every customer that uses our products and chooses us as their trusted source for natural healing. The naturopathic doctors, wellness centers, and independent pharmacies that carry our products. Most importantly are the emails and calls we receive thanking us for changing lives, which pushes us harder and is the best achievement we can dream of!
Tia : Are there any brands you appreciate and follow?
Sarah : Yeah, there are a lot of great brands in the cannabis and CBD industry that are doing this the right way. We applaud everyone that is working hard to create products to truly help others!
Tia : Are there any plans for brand expansion? What do you plan to add to your product list moving forward?
Sarah : Yes, it is important for us to create products that will really benefit the end consumer. Since launch, we have been collecting data and feedback, and we will be launching products targeting new categories such as sleep and immunity that our loyal customers have been asking for.
