Black Garlic is a Sativa strain that originates from a cross between GMO Cookies (aka Garlic Cookies) and Sour Dubb. The responsibility for creating and breeding this kush lies on Oni Seed Co. On average, it contains the THC level that ranges between 7.5-9% and the CBD amount of about 0,325-0.75%. Besides that, there also present approximately 0.39-0.69% CBC, 0.13-0.93% CBG and 0.26% CBN. Though the THC content may look pretty small, it’s still better to be careful with the dosage because this resinous strain can put a consumer to peaceful sleep with ease. The complex terpene profile that stands behind its unusual appearance and flavors consists of:

Black Garlic Flavors

Black Garlic’s flavor profile appears to be an odd mix of mint, tar, peper, menthol, and some even feel a slight ammonia note. The terpene responsible for both the most prevailing minty and the least noticeable ammonia flavors is pulegone. In turn, nerolidol provides the aroma of tar, while phellandrene gives off pepperiness. At the same time, the presence of menthol is the result of the combined powers of both phellandrene and limonene.

There are no seeds for this strain, but you can purchase seeds from the parent strain:

Common Effects

This marijuana sticks to its Indica lineage and represents a perfect choice to unwind, relaxing after a hard-working day. The high starts from mellow relaxation and tingles, flowing into the state of quite a clear-headed yet lazy relaxation. Despite it doesn’t make one completely powerless, and it’s possible to perform some activities, Black Garlic is definitely a nighttime strain. Along with the concentration, it can also make the consumer more talkative and sometimes even giggly.

Depending on the dosage and user’s tolerance, this weed can either induce heavy sleepiness or only make the consumer slightly sedative. However, regardless of the consumed amount, the Black Garlic weed strain is known to cause munchies, so it’s better to prepare some snacks in advance.

Thankfully to its relaxing Indica properties, Black Garlic strain is often used for relieving a row of ailments:

  • Anxiety
  • Arthritis
  • PTSD
  • Insomnia
  • Migraines

Unfortunately, all cannabis strains have some possible side effects, and Black Garlic is not an exception. It might become a cause for the following:

  • Dizziness
  • Paranoia
  • Low blood pressure
  • Panic attacks

Black Garlic Strain Cannabinoids

THC Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is a major cannabis chemical compound. It is a psychoactive element that stimulates dopamine release and induces euphoria or happiness. THC-rich strains may be helpful with such conditions as lack of appetite, chronic pains , etc. It is considered to be the primary active marijuana component. 7.5 - 9.5%
CBD Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a major compound in cannabis, which is non-psychoactive. It is also proved to counteract the side effects of the second major component THC. CBD is widely used for medicinal purposes in rubs, oils and so on. It is helpful in muscle pain cases, may treat arthritis and migraines. Even Greeks used it against pain, while Queen Victoria applied it to get rid of menstrual cramps. 0.32 - 0.75%
CBC Cannabichromene, or CBC, is a minor cannabinoid, meaning that its quantity in cannabis is quite little. Though it has the same origin as CBD and THC, it is different in functions. Without any psychoactive effects, it is an efficient cannabis compound in combating acne and depression. CBC produces analgesic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. 0.39 - 0.69%
CBG Cannabigerol, or CBG, is one of the minor cannabis compounds in adult plants. On the other hand, young ones contain a lot of this antibacterial and anti-inflammatory component. During the growth, CBG is converted into different cannabinoids, mostly THC and CBD. The compound itself increases appetite and decreases eye pressure. 0.13 - 0.93%
CBN Cannabinol, or CBN, is a trace element in cannabis that is considered to be mildly psychoactive. It appears from oxidation THC, exposed to light and heat. CBN is mostly contained in old cannabis and in traditional hashish. It is effective against insomnia, bacterial infections and appetite loss. 0.03 - 0.26%
THCV Tetrahydrocannabivarin, or THC-V, is a compound contained in cannabis in trace amounts. Even though it is close to THC molecularly, it is different in effects. This compound may be psychoactive only in large amounts. THC-V reduces blood sugar, controls appetite, stimulates bone growth, etc. African Sativa strains are the richest in THC-V. 0.43 - 0.53%

Black Garlic Terpene Profile

Limonene Limonene (also known as d-limonene) is the second most common terpene in nature and the third most common terpene in cannabis. It has a powerful citrus aroma and can be found in all citruses, including lemons, oranges, grapefruits, limes, juniper, etc. Limonene is known to elevate moods and provide anxiety, depression, and stress relief. 0.12%
Pulegone Pulegone is a less-common terpene found in peppermint and catnip, for example, with a sweet and minty aroma. In small amounts, pulegone could be found in some cannabis strains. It is reported to offer anxiety-relieving effects, increased cognitive performance, and sedative properties. Could remove dizziness. 0.44%
Nerolidol Nerolidol (also known as trans-nerolidol) is a terpene found in jasmine, tea tree, and lemongrass, as well as in some cannabis strains. Nerolidol has a distinguished floral aroma with notes of citrus, apples, and rose. The terpene has sedative, anti-anxiety, antimicrobial, anti-parasitic, anti-oxidant, and pain-relieving properties. 0.12%
Phellandrene Phellandrene (also known as alpha- and beta-phellandrene) is one of the rare terpenes found in cannabis with antihyperalgesic and antidepressive properties. Phellandrene contributes to a minty, woody, and mildly citrus aroma in cannabis. Previously confused with limonene and pinene, phellandrene was eventually distinguished as a separate terpene common for eucalyptus. Also, it could be found in mint, dill, black pepper, cinnamon, parsley, pine, and lavender. 0.31%
Total terpenes content 0.99%

Of all the strains in the market, i try to find some that are similar to Black Gralic as possible. i am drawn to calmness and healing. i even reccommend this to others like me. All you'd have to do is get or Fortune Cookies, or any other with similar qualities.

some medical journals said that Black Garlic is great for pain and relief. That is actually true, I started using it last fall and i don't feel my knee pain as much as i used to. I had been involved in an accident that led to surgery and PT training. a few puffs of the joints have been very helpful.

A premium bud that throws an amazing mellow buzz. Beginner smokers can expect great sleep, but experienced… theyll get just sedation I think.

My new favorite strain. Just several hits and my muscle pain melts away. This one can certainly be used for medicinal purposes like insomnia, stress, anxiety, and migraines. I always have some indicas at hand to cope with similar stuff.

Due to its Indica heritage, Black Garlic is a strain for people who want to unwind in the end of the working day and restore their energy resources. I cant smell garlic, but its more gasoline with pepper and mint undertones. Oh God, it puts me straight
