Potency
Purple Urkle strain is a rare and pure Indica cannabis strain with grapey and earthy notes. Some people tend to compare the bud’s flavor with the regular grape soda, which makes it a really tasty decision for fruit lovers. Purple Urkle “punches you in the head”, offering you an amazing and euphoric high. The strain effects are noticeable after a few puffs, mostly because the buds present a high THC level of 18-20% and a relatively fine dose of CBD (up to 0.42%).
Since the strain’s predominantly an Indica type of strain, it is best to be used before sleep. It is also placed in the category of “two-hitter-quitter”, which means that two hits are just enough to extract all the effects that you’re hoping for. Users report “lethargic” and “extremely relaxing” effects that are felt from head to toes.
The Purple Urkle strain genetics is a true mystery, though we know that the strain originated in northern California, more exactly in the Emerald Triangle region. Nevertheless, few sources suggest that Purple Urkle is a purely Indica strain that originates from Pakistan or Afghanistan. Many experts suggest that the Purple Urkle weed strain is a phenotype of Mendocino Purps, though it can also be a phenotype of Granddaddy Purple.

Purple Urkle Strain Flavors
What is first noted while smoking this weed is a sweet dark fruit fragrance that carries hints of grapes and berries. The second sensation that you get is a fine smell of wood and soil, which makes this bud one of the most naturally smelling buds out there.
In terms of taste, the most popular version is “grape soda”. Indeed, many users report that this bud provides a grape soda feeling, followed by a slight note of berries. Due to its grassy and skunky flavors and its sugary and thick smoke, you’ll be able to experience a unique feeling.
Basic Grow Information
Purple Urkle is known to be a “slow-growth” strain. If you choose to cultivate indoors, it can take up to 8 weeks to become mature. The Purple Urkle strain flowering time is approximately eight weeks inside the house, but it can take more than 5 months to mature outside. It can flourish there, but it is often a big “hustle”.
This strain is recommended to intermediate growers who know how to offer the right amount of attention. This strain is pretty “needy” in terms of environmental conditions and nutrition, therefore you need to do your homework before proceeding.

Purple Urkle Strain Cannabinoids
THC | 20.67 - 23.67% | Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is a major cannabis chemical compound. It is a psychoactive element that stimulates dopamine release and induces euphoria or happiness. THC-rich strains may be helpful with such conditions as lack of appetite, chronic pains , etc. It is considered to be the primary active marijuana component. |
CBD | 0.21 - 0.42% | Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a major compound in cannabis, which is non-psychoactive. It is also proved to counteract the side effects of the second major component THC. CBD is widely used for medicinal purposes in rubs, oils and so on. It is helpful in muscle pain cases, may treat arthritis and migraines. Even Greeks used it against pain, while Queen Victoria applied it to get rid of menstrual cramps. |
CBC | 0.17 - 1.42% | Cannabichromene, or CBC, is a minor cannabinoid, meaning that its quantity in cannabis is quite little. Though it has the same origin as CBD and THC, it is different in functions. Without any psychoactive effects, it is an efficient cannabis compound in combating acne and depression. CBC produces analgesic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. |
CBG | 0.26 - 1.39% | Cannabigerol, or CBG, is one of the minor cannabis compounds in adult plants. On the other hand, young ones contain a lot of this antibacterial and anti-inflammatory component. During the growth, CBG is converted into different cannabinoids, mostly THC and CBD. The compound itself increases appetite and decreases eye pressure. |
CBN | 0.11 - 0.26% | Cannabinol, or CBN, is a trace element in cannabis that is considered to be mildly psychoactive. It appears from oxidation THC, exposed to light and heat. CBN is mostly contained in old cannabis and in traditional hashish. It is effective against insomnia, bacterial infections and appetite loss. |
THCV | 0.21 - 1.95% | Tetrahydrocannabivarin, or THC-V, is a compound contained in cannabis in trace amounts. Even though it is close to THC molecularly, it is different in effects. This compound may be psychoactive only in large amounts. THC-V reduces blood sugar, controls appetite, stimulates bone growth, etc. African Sativa strains are the richest in THC-V. |
Purple Urkle Terpene Profile
Pinene | 0.24% | Pinene is one of the most widespread terpenes in nature, found in pine trees, basil, nutmeg, parsley, and rosemary. Cannabis containing terpene (alpha-pinene or α-pinene) boasts a strong pine scent. Pinene is responsible for anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, and anti-anxiety effects. |
Geraniol | 0.24% | Geraniol is a terpene initially contained in geraniums, as well as lemongrass, lemon peels, roses, blueberries, and carrots. The aroma is a sweet rose scent with notes of citrus. Geraniol features anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, and neuroprotectant properties. It's rumored to have side effects such as allergic contact dermatitis or sensitive skin irritation. |
Limonene | 0.09% | Limonene (also known as d-limonene) is the second most common terpene in nature and the third most common terpene in cannabis. It has a powerful citrus aroma and can be found in all citruses, including lemons, oranges, grapefruits, limes, juniper, etc. Limonene is known to elevate moods and provide anxiety, depression, and stress relief. |
Bisabolol | 0.12% | Bisabolol (also known as α-Bisabolol or levomenol) is a lesser-known terpene found in cannabis. It contributes to anti-inflammatory, anti-irritant, antioxidant, anti-microbial, and analgesic properties of weed strains containing bisanol. Attentive smokers would be able to catch a nutty, fruity scent with herbal and floral undertones, with a tender trace of coconut. |
Terpineol | 0.24% | Terpineol (also known as alpha-terpineol or a-terpineol) is a terpene naturally occurring in more than 150 plants, including lilacs, lime blossoms, eucalyptus sap, and pines. Among the therapeutic qualities are anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antitumor, and antimicrobial. In cannabis, terpineol boasts the distinctive pine smoke aroma and causes a relaxing, sedative effect. |
Phellandrene | 0.09% | Phellandrene (also known as alpha- and beta-phellandrene) is one of the rare terpenes found in cannabis with antihyperalgesic and antidepressive properties. Phellandrene contributes to a minty, woody, and mildly citrus aroma in cannabis. Previously confused with limonene and pinene, phellandrene was eventually distinguished as a separate terpene common for eucalyptus. Also, it could be found in mint, dill, black pepper, cinnamon, parsley, pine, and lavender. |

Bought this in flower form and It was pretty nice. It is a great flower for first time users. It has a great high that lasts close to two hours. I feel sleepy but not sluggish and no paranoia or cotton mouth. I highly recommend it.
Nice grapey taste and lovely buds. This shit is a heavy hitter though, so go slow on it else it will render you useless for the next couple of hours!
One puff of Purple Urkle and I have 8 straight hours of uninterrupted sleep. I love it!
Strong Indica effects with a strong head buzz. This is an excellent pain reliever and anti-depressant.

Sooooo relaxing!
Insomnia and migraine killer.
This wasn’t the strain for me at all. I prefer strains that have uplifting and euphoric effects and I didn’t really get that from Purple Urkle. It is however, a good strain for anyone wanting a body relaxation or sleep with less cerebral high.
Feeling it strong! I am experiencing some cotton mouth and I cant seem to keep my eyes open!
I felt a dry mouth after smoking this weed, but I really loved the positive effects of this weed. It helps me reduce my anxiety and makes me go euphoric. It is such a nice weed I have discovered so far.
This MMJ hits me high easily. THC content is also satisfying. I smoke this kush in the evening. I highly recommend it to all those suffering from stress and anxiety. The leafly also says that it helps with these disorders. The weed makes my mouth dry for some time.
I can sleep well after enjoying a few joints of this strain. I will highly recommend to all those suffering from sleep-related issues.
I got a little dizzy, but still, the high I experienced made me feel wonderful. A few bongs on holidays works well for me
