The Black Diamond strain, also known as “Black Diamond OG” and more rarely called “Black Diamond OG Kush,” is the medical marijuana that was bred in the Northern California region as a clone-only strain. Being an Indica-dominant weed, this strain is a result of crossing Blackberry and Diamond OG strains and is hard to find. Due to its genetic backbone and medical properties, this cannabis boasts rich terpene composition dominated by myrcene and camphene. They give the Black Diamond its well-known earthy taste with rich sweet undertones with berry hints and a woody aroma. The effects are potent, starting with a euphoric high that lifts the mind and leaves stoners fully relaxed and happy. Since this strain has a moderate THC level that amounts to 16-19%, it can be smoked by experienced medical patients. Both beginners and experienced gardeners can cultivate the Black Diamond seeds feminized.

One of the easiest grows I have ever had to be honest.

Fragrances & Tastes

Due to its sweet and earthy OG kush heritage and high level of myrcene, the Black Diamond weed strain possesses a delicious taste that reminds stoners of a sweet cocktail of berries with earthy hints. Woody and the earthy fragrance come from the second dominant terpene, known as camphene. When these flavors are combined, the distinctive scent pleases the smoker's taste buds instantly and releases the whole range of complementary terpenes, providing a citrus aftertaste for a refreshing experience due to limonene in the terpene profile.

Effects of Black Diamond Strain

Being mostly Indica, the black diamond kush provides a potent high that first overwhelms the mind with a lifted sense of happiness and warming euphoria. While the mind reaches new heights and the body starts to relax, smokers will notice how stress and racing thoughts are washed away. With its strong soothing and relaxing properties, this strain leaves stoners with a total sense of happiness and fully relaxed with a sleep-inducing feeling. The effect can be felt almost immediately, which makes this marijuana bud a great option for anyone looking for relief from stress and insomnia. With its moderate THC level and soothing effects, the Black Diamond weed is prescribed to medical patients to help relieve symptoms of the following health conditions:

  • Pains
  • Muscle spasms
  • Nausea
  • Anxiety
  • Loss of appetite
  • Insomnia

The Black Diamond fans also recommend paying attention to the The Forbidden Fruit weed, although it has a higher THC level, smokers say these two strains have something in common in relaxing effect. However, like any other cannabis strain, this weed can cause minor side effects like:

  • Thirst and dry mouth
  • Dry eyes
  • Rapid heartbeat

Information For Growers

The inside-grown open-air grow plants alike reach 30-60 inches in height. The strain flowers in 63-70 days and delivers dense round green nugs covered in a thick coating of sticky resin. In indoor conditions, the yield amounts to 0.5-1 oz./ft2, while the outdoor environment produces 10-15 oz./plant. Growers can harvest the yield 77 days after germination. The seeds of the plant are rare, so it is hard to find them online.

FAQ

The Black Diamond has particular characteristics that set it apart from other strains. The aroma can trick even some of the most avid smokers into thinking it is something else. The initial scent that it gives off is much like berries, since it has a blackberry parent and is followed by a powerful earthy tone. It has layers of aromas and the experienced users can take them apart into different categories. There is a sweet component to the smell, similar to brown sugar that is similar to the flavor of mahogany without having a woody component. The aroma is bright and straightforward, often being associated with Cuban cigars.
The clipping of Black Diamond is not easy to find. You can start growing it inside or outside. When growing it inside, you can easily create a controlled environment. Using the AC at a temperature lower than 46 degrees F for a while during the night is one way to ensure its development. If your area gets cold during the night, you can also manage to grow it outside. To make sure the plant has enough sunlight to grow buds. Make sure you prune it regularly.
The blooming period for Black Diamond can vary from 63 to 70 days, depending on weed seeds. It isn’t too long, but a bit longer than what you’d normally expect from an indica-dominant strain. On the other hand, given the amount of weed you’ll get at the end of the flowering cycle and the fact that it is not difficult to grow, the expectation is completely worth your while.
When it comes to effects, individuals who have consumed this strain say that they come on pretty quickly. Firstly, you’ll likely feel an almost immediate sense of euphoria that will wash your mind in waves of happiness. Shortly after, you’ll notice your entire body calming down, due to the soothing properties of Black Diamond, making it a sound option for people struggling with stress, anxiety, and insomnia. Besides, Black Diamond is a great remedy for treating health conditions, such as lack of appetite, muscle spasms, nausea, and pains, so if you’re looking for quick relief, this may be your go-to option.

rtists like myself like such pot that gives them energy but keeps them concentrated. I smoke BlackDiamond when I do my art. I am carried away but focused. Don’t know how to explain it. I can tell you that the symptoms are all positive and I don’t have any of those dry mouth dry eyes things. It’s a good strain.

So light and enjoyable! Black Diamond weed is just like askgrowers says. It’s potent, but it brings on such good feelings. I’m high, but I don’t lose my time or my mind. I’m right here when I smoke it, can do everything but don’t feel any worry or concern. It makes me hungry – a lot – so I snack a bit. If I use it too much I’ll get fat. Hahahaa

This pot was recommended to me, no prescribed, by my doctor. I’m depressed and a bit anorexic because I don’t eat anything. It helped, this pot, but not so much. It was more bad for me than good. I panicked more when I took it, so it didn’t help my depression. Soon after this, my doctor changed the prescription.

Strain details

Black Diamond Strain Cannabinoids

THC Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is a major cannabis chemical compound. It is a psychoactive element that stimulates dopamine release and induces euphoria or happiness. THC-rich strains may be helpful with such conditions as lack of appetite, chronic pains , etc. It is considered to be the primary active marijuana component. 16.23 - 19.57%
CBD Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a major compound in cannabis, which is non-psychoactive. It is also proved to counteract the side effects of the second major component THC. CBD is widely used for medicinal purposes in rubs, oils and so on. It is helpful in muscle pain cases, may treat arthritis and migraines. Even Greeks used it against pain, while Queen Victoria applied it to get rid of menstrual cramps. 0.36 - 0.49%
CBC Cannabichromene, or CBC, is a minor cannabinoid, meaning that its quantity in cannabis is quite little. Though it has the same origin as CBD and THC, it is different in functions. Without any psychoactive effects, it is an efficient cannabis compound in combating acne and depression. CBC produces analgesic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. 0.3 - 0.64%
CBG Cannabigerol, or CBG, is one of the minor cannabis compounds in adult plants. On the other hand, young ones contain a lot of this antibacterial and anti-inflammatory component. During the growth, CBG is converted into different cannabinoids, mostly THC and CBD. The compound itself increases appetite and decreases eye pressure. 0.16 - 1.23%
CBN Cannabinol, or CBN, is a trace element in cannabis that is considered to be mildly psychoactive. It appears from oxidation THC, exposed to light and heat. CBN is mostly contained in old cannabis and in traditional hashish. It is effective against insomnia, bacterial infections and appetite loss. 0.22 - 0.2%
THCV Tetrahydrocannabivarin, or THC-V, is a compound contained in cannabis in trace amounts. Even though it is close to THC molecularly, it is different in effects. This compound may be psychoactive only in large amounts. THC-V reduces blood sugar, controls appetite, stimulates bone growth, etc. African Sativa strains are the richest in THC-V. 0.27 - 1.1%
