I felt the effects after about 20 minutes and they lasted until just after lunchtime (12 hours). It didn't give me a high feeling, just relief from my pains.
The smell can be bothersome if you're sensitive or have allergies but that's true for most herbal creams these days.
A little goes a long way, which my jar lasted a whole 6 months.
I wish GoGreen Hemp would make a larger version for treating larger areas such as thighs and knees
