All About Hog Weed Strain

Aroma, Flavor, and Physical Characteristics

The weed produces medium-sized buds of rich green color with orange trichomes and features a good resin coating. The buds have a spade-like structure that is interesting to look at.

The strain is known to have an earthy aroma with sour undertones. While burning, it has coffee and sage scents. Its thick pungent smoke will boast flavors of dirt and pepper. Hog weed strain is not one of the most desirable strains to smell, but its unique body-high is enough to convince the most experienced smokers to use it.

Hog Strain Effects and Medical Uses

With such a high dosage of Indica, this marijuana provides relaxed and sleepy effects. This intense cannabis is known to produce psychedelic effects, making experienced users warn others about dosing. The effects can show up in 15 minutes after smoking. It is better to enjoy this strain before bed.

It is an excellent cannabis product to use for chronic pain management. After a small amount, any pain begins to melt away with all stress, anxiety, and depression. For insomniacs, this strain will immediately lull them into a deep slumber. It is effective in treating migraines, phantom limb pain, fibromyalgia, and arthritis. It induces cerebral euphoria, uplifts mood, stimulates appetite, and is known for analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties.

Typical negative effects that may occur during smoking are dry mouth, eye pressure, disorientation, rapid heartbeat, dizziness, and hunger.

Growing Tips

To plant this strain, you can buy The Hog strain seeds online or in dispensaries. This strain is a durable plant, which is a great option for novice growers in the industry. The flowering time is between 56-70 days with 77-84 days of the harvest time. The average plants are 30-60 inches high with hearty branches. The grow difficulty is easy, but big and bushy plants require frequent maintenance and trimming. The indoor and outdoor yields amount to 2-4 oz./ft2 and 4-6 oz./ft2 respectively.

Because of its strong smell, ventilated indoor growing environments are recommended.

Consumption Advice

Due to intense body-high effects and a pungent flavor, this strain should be reserved for confident users. Experienced consumers recommend beginning with a small dose for the strain to offer its full effect. Careful dosing with this strain is necessary for novice and intermediate users. Those who don’t like the taste can start with infused edibles. The Hog strain can be used as a social bud to enjoy a party with friends, but its drowsy effects may eventually lead users to bed.

The smoke can make you choke if you are a beginner! Not something you should smoke if you are starting out. My eyes wont stop watering.

When you burn it, the subtle coffee smell changes to woodsy and the smoke is positively overwhelming, got stuck to the bed and slept even before I knew it.

Fruits, spices and earth. Very distinctive smell. The nugs are perfect size, green and hairy. Its a heavy kicker by all means. It takes only few minuets and you are fully medicated. Definitely like its classic old school weed taste. I see some people find it strong. Take only few puffs and youll have the best of Hog strain.

The Hog strain is for veterans. Its very potent and intensive. I strongly advice to start with a small dosage and preferably in bed. Also, my suggestion is to use it with the bong only if you already know its nature.

Strain details

Hog Strain Cannabinoids

THC Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is a major cannabis chemical compound. It is a psychoactive element that stimulates dopamine release and induces euphoria or happiness. THC-rich strains may be helpful with such conditions as lack of appetite, chronic pains , etc. It is considered to be the primary active marijuana component. 24 - 25.67%
CBD Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a major compound in cannabis, which is non-psychoactive. It is also proved to counteract the side effects of the second major component THC. CBD is widely used for medicinal purposes in rubs, oils and so on. It is helpful in muscle pain cases, may treat arthritis and migraines. Even Greeks used it against pain, while Queen Victoria applied it to get rid of menstrual cramps. 0.03 - 0.21%
CBC Cannabichromene, or CBC, is a minor cannabinoid, meaning that its quantity in cannabis is quite little. Though it has the same origin as CBD and THC, it is different in functions. Without any psychoactive effects, it is an efficient cannabis compound in combating acne and depression. CBC produces analgesic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. 0.38 - 1.32%
CBG Cannabigerol, or CBG, is one of the minor cannabis compounds in adult plants. On the other hand, young ones contain a lot of this antibacterial and anti-inflammatory component. During the growth, CBG is converted into different cannabinoids, mostly THC and CBD. The compound itself increases appetite and decreases eye pressure. 0.37 - 2.2%
CBN Cannabinol, or CBN, is a trace element in cannabis that is considered to be mildly psychoactive. It appears from oxidation THC, exposed to light and heat. CBN is mostly contained in old cannabis and in traditional hashish. It is effective against insomnia, bacterial infections and appetite loss. 0.32 - 0.36%
THCV Tetrahydrocannabivarin, or THC-V, is a compound contained in cannabis in trace amounts. Even though it is close to THC molecularly, it is different in effects. This compound may be psychoactive only in large amounts. THC-V reduces blood sugar, controls appetite, stimulates bone growth, etc. African Sativa strains are the richest in THC-V. 0.44 - 1.53%

Hog Terpene Profile

Pinene Pinene is one of the most widespread terpenes in nature, found in pine trees, basil, nutmeg, parsley, and rosemary. Cannabis containing terpene (alpha-pinene or α-pinene) boasts a strong pine scent. Pinene is responsible for anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, and anti-anxiety effects. 0.09%
Ocimene Ocimene (derived from the Ancient Greek word Ocimum meaning basil) is a terpene with sweet and herbaceous flavors, also boasting citrusy and woody undertones. Naturally, ocimene occurs in mint, parsley, orchids, hops, kumquats, mangoes, basil, bergamot, lavender, and pepper. Offers antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral properties. 0.18%
Humulene Humulene (also known as α-humulene) is one of the major terpenes found in cannabis, contributing to woody, earthy, spicy, herbaceous, and, mainly, floral aromas of cannabis. Used in modern medicine, humulene offers anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and appetite suppressant effects, which have been well-researched by pharmaceutical companies. 0.36%
Eucalyptol Eucalyptol (also known as cineole) is usually found in eucalyptus, mint, sage, and tea tree oil. Distinguished for its cooling properties, eucalyptol constitutes only up 0.6% of a total terpene profile of a strain. This terpene exhibits potent antibacterial effects and can also be used to treat patients with Alzheimer's disease and asthma. 0.18%
Phellandrene Phellandrene (also known as alpha- and beta-phellandrene) is one of the rare terpenes found in cannabis with antihyperalgesic and antidepressive properties. Phellandrene contributes to a minty, woody, and mildly citrus aroma in cannabis. Previously confused with limonene and pinene, phellandrene was eventually distinguished as a separate terpene common for eucalyptus. Also, it could be found in mint, dill, black pepper, cinnamon, parsley, pine, and lavender. 0.18%
Total terpenes content 0.99%
