A well-balanced hybrid (50% Sativa / 50% Indica) Sour Tsunami is a child strain from a crossing of Sour Diesel and NYC Diesel. Its CBD/THC ratio shows a slight CBD predominance, with THC content varying from 9 to 11.25% and CBD content of 11.22-11.86%. It gives a relaxing high that has exceptional potential for medical use. It’s pretty tasty and a good thing to try as a first-timer getting into weed culture since it’s a non-psychoactive bud variety.

San Francisco Bay Area native Lawrence Ringo is one of the most renowned cannabis breeders in the United States. Being a CBD enthusiast, Ringo started making Sour Tsunami weed strain because he wanted to help people relieve back pain, which Ringo himself suffered from. Up to date, the Sour Tsunami strain is a good choice for medical marijuana patients in many regions of the United States, such as California, Michigan, and the Pacific Northwest.

Terpenes Profile, Aroma, and Flavor

The total terpenes content of Sour Tsunami cannabis is 1.00%, the main of which are:

  • Myrcene (0.25%)
  • Terpinolene (0.18%)
  • Limonene (0.12%)
  • Pinene (0.09%)
  • Phellandrene (0.09%)

Thanks to the terpenes in Sour Tsunami’s genetics, it has a strong smell of its parent strain — Sour Diesel. However, you can scent a subtle sweetness in it. The Sour Tsunami strain has a distinctive flavor: citrusy, piney, and woodsy that you’re sure to enjoy.

The main effects you can look forward to are a boost of energy and a feeling of euphoria. You will also be able to focus more efficiently, and you may find that you experience a general sense of well-being.

Dry eyes and dry mouth are some of the side effects you can expect when taking too much of Sour Tsunami strain. A small percentage of Sour Tsunami’s users: a feeling of slight dizziness and mild anxiety. Of course, other medications are known to cause similar side effects, so this may be an issue connected with the way the human brain handles cannabinoids or terpenes — or individual metabolic response.

Sour Tsunami Strain Cannabinoids

THC 9 - 11.25% Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is a major cannabis chemical compound. It is a psychoactive element that stimulates dopamine release and induces euphoria or happiness. THC-rich strains may be helpful with such conditions as lack of appetite, chronic pains , etc. It is considered to be the primary active marijuana component.
CBD 11.22 - 11.86% Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a major compound in cannabis, which is non-psychoactive. It is also proved to counteract the side effects of the second major component THC. CBD is widely used for medicinal purposes in rubs, oils and so on. It is helpful in muscle pain cases, may treat arthritis and migraines. Even Greeks used it against pain, while Queen Victoria applied it to get rid of menstrual cramps.
CBC 0.15 - 0.73% Cannabichromene, or CBC, is a minor cannabinoid, meaning that its quantity in cannabis is quite little. Though it has the same origin as CBD and THC, it is different in functions. Without any psychoactive effects, it is an efficient cannabis compound in combating acne and depression. CBC produces analgesic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects.
CBG 0.29 - 0.71% Cannabigerol, or CBG, is one of the minor cannabis compounds in adult plants. On the other hand, young ones contain a lot of this antibacterial and anti-inflammatory component. During the growth, CBG is converted into different cannabinoids, mostly THC and CBD. The compound itself increases appetite and decreases eye pressure.
CBN 0.2 - 0.41% Cannabinol, or CBN, is a trace element in cannabis that is considered to be mildly psychoactive. It appears from oxidation THC, exposed to light and heat. CBN is mostly contained in old cannabis and in traditional hashish. It is effective against insomnia, bacterial infections and appetite loss.
THCV 0.25 - 0.8% Tetrahydrocannabivarin, or THC-V, is a compound contained in cannabis in trace amounts. Even though it is close to THC molecularly, it is different in effects. This compound may be psychoactive only in large amounts. THC-V reduces blood sugar, controls appetite, stimulates bone growth, etc. African Sativa strains are the richest in THC-V.

Linalool is known for its spicy and lavender aroma, bringing relaxation and calming effects. It is also said to provide anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties that can be useful for athletes.

Valencene offers citrusy, sweet aromas, with flavors having notes of oranges, grapefruits, tangerines, and, occasionally, fresh herbs or freshly cut wood. Incredible strain, truly calming and yet has a touch of the positives of sativa without the racing mind and negatives that it can bring. Might be my favorite medicinal strain ever, along with ACDC. A must try

a decent amount of THC allowing you to get high while still getting relief from pain, inflammation, and anxiety. Initially the strain is very cerebral but it does provoke anxiety because of it CBD content. It is thus an excellent strain for people sensitive to sativa dominant strains.

Sour Tsunami has a relatively low THC content that averages 10%. It therefore, doesn’t get you high. It is a flower that was grown to offer medical properties thus has high CBD content.
