All About AK-49 Weed Strain

This phenotype is a Sativa dominant hybrid, bred through crossing old-school classic genetics, including Mexican, Colombian, Afghan, and Thai lineage. It is quite powerful and suitable for experienced smokers and those who are not new to cannabis.

Aroma and Flavor of AK-49 Strain

The top-reported flavors of the AK-49 strain are earthy, woody, and skunk, which is characteristic of ocimene and caryophyllene terpenes present in the plant. These are the smells retained from its forefather that it was famous for. Other prevailing terpenes worth mentioning are phellandrene and pinene, which give pine and sweet undertones to the mentioned aroma palette.

Effects and Medical Uses

Smoking this weed comes with strong cerebral effects. The high starts with uplifting effects that fill users with euphoria and happiness and give tingling sensations at the same time. This state brings people relaxation without affecting their mental energy level. Most consumers claim they feel stimulated and become creative and talkative.

Due to these effects, the AK-49 strain is a good option for relieving symptoms of the following conditions:

  • Epilepsy
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Phantom limb pain
  • Fatigue
  • Anxiety

Because of the potent strain effects, users should mind their dosage; otherwise, the weed may cause the following adverse effects:

  • Headache
  • Dry eyes
  • Paranoia
  • Fatigue

Growing Tips

This is an autoflowering marijuana strain, which has earned a reputation for the simplicity and speed of the growing process. This means its seeds start to flower regardless of the amount of light they get during the day. AK-49 has an approximate 70-78-day flowering period with an 84-day harvest time.

The average plants are 30-60 inches high. They produce oversized minty green buds with bright orange hairs. The buds are coated with white crystal trichomes. The plants are known for plentiful yields that amount to 0.5-1 oz./ft2 when grown indoors and 1-2 oz./ft2 for outdoor gardens.

I never smoked any weed that made me feel good as this one. The cerebral is quite high like most reviews here mention and oh boy, did I say that it gave me the best sex in years? It makes me aroused, happy, and energetic.

This sativa acted more like an indica, I smoked one puff and it made me couch locked. It however makes you focused and active and allows you to do anything you want. I am a season cannabis user and I can tell you that this shit is potent so take less unless you want to be brain dead. It made me paranoid!

Im a new smoker and this has made me have two big concerns when it comes to my weed. The first thing that worries me is that I dont want my weed to be too strong and the other one is that I dont want it to be weak too. This strain is well balanced and has been great for me.

Friend of mine gave me a batch of AK-49 fudge like a week ago and it only took me two pieces to get stoned AF. At the time I didnt even what strain this was but he finally told me what it was two days ago so I got some so I could try it in a blunt.

If there is a real gun thats called an AK-49 Id expect it to have a kick thats at least half as strong as this bud. This is the go to strain if you need a quick boost when youre feeling down.

This weed helps a lot with my depression, whenever I feel so low that I cant even do nothing or feel anything a few drags of this strain are all I need. It does make me a little dizzy though but its not that bad.

Yeah it is true that AK-49 makes you feel super active but what I like about it is how it can get you relaxed too. I prefer hitting a blunt of this strain after work though so I can do a few chores around the house and sleep like a baby after.

Strain details

AK-49 Strain Cannabinoids

THC Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is a major cannabis chemical compound. It is a psychoactive element that stimulates dopamine release and induces euphoria or happiness. THC-rich strains may be helpful with such conditions as lack of appetite, chronic pains , etc. It is considered to be the primary active marijuana component. 19.25 - 22%
CBD Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a major compound in cannabis, which is non-psychoactive. It is also proved to counteract the side effects of the second major component THC. CBD is widely used for medicinal purposes in rubs, oils and so on. It is helpful in muscle pain cases, may treat arthritis and migraines. Even Greeks used it against pain, while Queen Victoria applied it to get rid of menstrual cramps. 0.31 - 0.43%
CBC Cannabichromene, or CBC, is a minor cannabinoid, meaning that its quantity in cannabis is quite little. Though it has the same origin as CBD and THC, it is different in functions. Without any psychoactive effects, it is an efficient cannabis compound in combating acne and depression. CBC produces analgesic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. 0.34 - 0.79%
CBG Cannabigerol, or CBG, is one of the minor cannabis compounds in adult plants. On the other hand, young ones contain a lot of this antibacterial and anti-inflammatory component. During the growth, CBG is converted into different cannabinoids, mostly THC and CBD. The compound itself increases appetite and decreases eye pressure. 0.26 - 1.21%
CBN Cannabinol, or CBN, is a trace element in cannabis that is considered to be mildly psychoactive. It appears from oxidation THC, exposed to light and heat. CBN is mostly contained in old cannabis and in traditional hashish. It is effective against insomnia, bacterial infections and appetite loss. 0.16 - 0.31%
THCV Tetrahydrocannabivarin, or THC-V, is a compound contained in cannabis in trace amounts. Even though it is close to THC molecularly, it is different in effects. This compound may be psychoactive only in large amounts. THC-V reduces blood sugar, controls appetite, stimulates bone growth, etc. African Sativa strains are the richest in THC-V. 0.12 - 0.7%

AK-49 Terpene Profile

Pinene Pinene is one of the most widespread terpenes in nature, found in pine trees, basil, nutmeg, parsley, and rosemary. Cannabis containing terpene (alpha-pinene or α-pinene) boasts a strong pine scent. Pinene is responsible for anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, and anti-anxiety effects. 0.1%
Myrcene Myrcene (also known as β-myrcene) is one of the most common terpenes found in cannabis, representing more than 20% of the modern marijuana terpene profile. Myrcene has a distinct earthy, musky flavor, resembling cloves. It is responsible for calming and soothing effects of weed. Myrcene is also found in hops, thyme, mango, lemongrass, guava melon. 0.1%
Ocimene Ocimene (derived from the Ancient Greek word Ocimum meaning basil) is a terpene with sweet and herbaceous flavors, also boasting citrusy and woody undertones. Naturally, ocimene occurs in mint, parsley, orchids, hops, kumquats, mangoes, basil, bergamot, lavender, and pepper. Offers antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral properties. 0.11%
Humulene Humulene (also known as α-humulene) is one of the major terpenes found in cannabis, contributing to woody, earthy, spicy, herbaceous, and, mainly, floral aromas of cannabis. Used in modern medicine, humulene offers anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and appetite suppressant effects, which have been well-researched by pharmaceutical companies. 0.11%
Limonene Limonene (also known as d-limonene) is the second most common terpene in nature and the third most common terpene in cannabis. It has a powerful citrus aroma and can be found in all citruses, including lemons, oranges, grapefruits, limes, juniper, etc. Limonene is known to elevate moods and provide anxiety, depression, and stress relief. 0.11%
Linalool Linalool (also known as beta linalool, linalyl alcohol, linaloyl oxide, and p-linalool) is one of the rarest terpenes found in cannabis, mostly in small quantities. Linalool is known for its spicy and lavender aroma, bringing relaxation and calming effects. It is also said to provide anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties that can be useful for athletes. 0.05%
Phellandrene Phellandrene (also known as alpha- and beta-phellandrene) is one of the rare terpenes found in cannabis with antihyperalgesic and antidepressive properties. Phellandrene contributes to a minty, woody, and mildly citrus aroma in cannabis. Previously confused with limonene and pinene, phellandrene was eventually distinguished as a separate terpene common for eucalyptus. Also, it could be found in mint, dill, black pepper, cinnamon, parsley, pine, and lavender. 0.27%
Caryophyllene Caryophyllene (also known as beta or b caryophyllene) is a terpene found in many herbs and spices, such as black pepper, basil, rosemary, and oregano.
